Endoscopic midface lift is a face-lifting technique performed through small incisions (1-2 cm) using thin, long cannulas and a camera. In endoscopic midface lift, long incisions are not required, and the forehead can be lifted, the eyebrows can be raised, and the muscles causing wrinkles between the forehead and eyebrows can be freed (thus providing a permanent botox effect), the cheeks can be lifted upwards (thus providing fullness on the cheekbones), and the corners of the eyes can be slightly lifted upwards (creating an almond eye appearance). Classic open face lifting can also be performed together with endoscopic midface lifting. The duration of the surgery increases accordingly. When endoscopic midface lifting and classic open face lifting are performed simultaneously, both the forehead, midface, lower part of the cheeks, and neck are stretched.
Endoscopic midface lifting is performed under general anesthesia in the operating room and takes 2.5-4 hours.
Since the incisions are zigzag, short, and within the hairy skin, they are not prominent. In endoscopic midface lifting surgery, very little or no skin is removed. In order to fully lift the cheek tissue, 1 cm incisions must also be made from inside the mouth, right and left. The job done in endoscopic midface lifting is to lift the upper and middle parts of the face and fix them in their new places with stitches. Although this procedure is called a facelift, rather than stretching the skin, it moves the cheek fat tissue, which should be on the cheekbones, down, the soft tissues that have fallen down, and the fallen eyebrows back to their natural places. When the cheek fat tissue is lifted upwards, there is a gathering in the lower eyelids in these patients; therefore, lower eyelid aesthetics are generally performed in these patients following facial lifting. Thus, a lively, tight appearance is achieved in the face.
You can stand up immediately after the surgery. Bandages on your face are removed after one week, and you can return to social life by applying makeup. It takes 2-3 months to fully see the result of this surgery. Mild bruising around the eyelids will completely disappear after this period, and the tissues will fully heal.
