Gynecomastia is the development of female-type breast tissue in males. Breast enlargement in men is not always a sign of illness; it can be physiological, especially during newborn, adolescence, and old age periods. Especially after the end of adolescence, the size of breast tissue that continues in men can cause psychosocial problems. Gynecomastia is a problem that is difficult to correct with exercise or diet.
There are three main types of gynecomastia: glandular type with an increase in real breast tissue, lipomatous type with an increase in fat tissue, and mixed type where there is an increase in both breast tissue and fat tissue.

Treatment varies according to these types. In cases where lipomatous tissue increase is more prominent, liposuction procedure is generally sufficient to solve this problem, while in cases where glandular tissue increase is prominent, it is necessary to remove the excess breast tissue using appropriate incisions. If there is excess skin in addition to excess fat and breast tissue, it is necessary to remove the excess skin as well. After the surgery, it is recommended that the patient stay in the hospital for one night and use a corset for one month.
