Neck lift

Neck lift is a procedure performed to reduce sagging and wrinkles in the neck area and achieve a more youthful appearance. This procedure is usually recommended for individuals aged 40 and above and helps to make the face and neck area appear younger. Neck lift surgery is performed by tightening the neck muscles, removing excess skin, or a combination of both. If there is fat accumulation under the chin, liposuction or open surgical lipectomy (with sharp scissors) is performed, then the neck skin and muscles are separately freed, the platysma muscle is brought closer to the midline for tension and contour, and the excess skin after lifting is removed from behind the ears. This results in a tight neck, a well-defined jawline, and a face free from signs of aging.

Classic face and neck lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia in a hospital setting and lasts 3-4 hours. Depending on your needs, endoscopic upper and mid-face lifts, chin liposuction, classic face lifts, and neck lift procedures can be performed together.

You are allowed to eat four hours after the operation and can get up afterwards. The operation usually requires staying in the hospital for one or sometimes two nights. To prevent leakage in the operation area, drains are usually used. Your drains will be removed within 1-3 days, depending on the amount of drainage.

If you lie in a semi-sitting position after the surgery, your swelling and pain will subside more quickly. After the operation, there will be a lightly compressed bandage around your chin and neck, along with flesh-colored tapes on your face. Any pain you may feel after the surgery can be easily controlled with pain relievers. There is no harm in washing your hair with warm water when you are discharged from the hospital.

You can return to your daily life on the tenth day, but you should avoid activities requiring excessive effort for six weeks.

It may take two or three months for your face to fully take shape. Your face will settle and beautify over time.

Unfortunately, these operations aimed at rejuvenating the lower part of the face, unlike endoscopic upper and mid-face rejuvenation operations, are not scarless. However, the remaining scars are usually very well camouflaged and not very noticeable. Since all three layers of the face are tightened, there is no tension on the skin suture lines, minimizing the visibility of the scars. However, as with any surgery, scar formation depends on the patient's healing potential, genetic makeup, and factors such as smoking. While the scars may initially be red, they fade and become indistinct over months.
